Field trip to Corinth – Neotectonics

Despite the challenging March weather at times, this year’s GS4007 Neotectonics field course in the Greek Gulf of Corinth area was a great success.

Three ForMovFluid Doctoral Candidates participated in this year’s course: UCC-based Hannah and FX, as well as Radek, who is based at SLR.

We had great fun looking at the interplay between active extensional faulting, fault-controlled fluid flow, relative sea level behavior and Gilbert fan development in an area that is believed to be one of the fastest extending pieces of lithosphere on the planet!
